In addition to the minimum information given in guidelines and standards in an operating manual, the risk assessment determines important basic contents - such as Safety instructions, warning level, safety markings. Practical example
A company provides its employees with an "old machine" made before the entry into force of the Machinery Directive. No (operating) instructions are available for this "old machine". Is the company obliged to provide (operating) instructions for the "old machine" in accordance with the latest machinery directive 2006/42/EU?
The employer must provide his employees with all necessary information on risks and preventive measures and provide them with verifiable and recurrent training. In the case of machines placed on the market after 01.01.1995, the Machinery Directive requires detailed operating instructions, while in the case of "old machines" (without the presence of instructions) instruction must be given with regard to the Ordinance on Work Equipment. Internal work/operating instructions and instructions (typewritten, interactive multimedia application, etc.) can be used to ensure safety during use, troubleshooting and set-up.
